Apple TV is releasing the first season of Small Prophets today outside the United Kingdom. The six-episode comedy was created, written and directed by Mackenzie Crook and previously premiered in Britain on BBC iPlayer and BBC Two.
Pearce Quigley plays Michael Sleep, a hardware-store employee still searching for Clea seven years after her disappearance. An alchemical recipe from his father, played by Michael Palin, leads Michael and coworker Kacey, played by Lauren Patel, to attempt to create future-predicting spirits called homunculi.
The announced cast also includes Sophie Willan, Jon Pointing and Paul Kaye, with Crook appearing as the store manager. Apple says the series is due on its service in the United Kingdom in 2027; the company has not given a more specific UK date.
