Sony Music Vision has scheduled Queen Budapest for a limited worldwide cinema and IMAX release beginning October 7 through Trafalgar Releasing. The concert was filmed on July 27, 1986, at Budapest’s Népstadion during the band’s Magic Tour.
Sony describes the program as Queen’s final filmed live performance with Freddie Mercury. The new presentation restores the original 35mm material in 4K and includes songs such as We Will Rock You, We Are the Champions, Under Pressure, Bohemian Rhapsody and a traditional Hungarian folk song.
The soundtrack is due October 30 on vinyl, CD and digital formats, with DVD and Blu-ray editions scheduled for the same date. Cinema locations and showtimes vary, so prospective viewers should use the official release information to confirm a local screening.
