The 64th New York Film Festival has scheduled a panel on alternative filmmaking for October 4 at 6 p.m. in the Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center’s amphitheater. Scholar and critic Erika Balsom will lead the conversation with filmmakers Peggy Ahwesh, Éric Baudelaire and Tiffany Sia.
Each participating filmmaker has work in the festival’s Currents program: Ahwesh’s The Wayfinders, Baudelaire’s For the Moon and Sia’s Overt Listening. Film at Lincoln Center says the discussion will consider the histories and possible futures of cinema made at the margins of dominant production and distribution systems.
The festival lists the talk as free, with tickets available on a first-come basis beginning one hour before the event. Because same-day arrangements can change, prospective attendees should confirm the time and access details on the official page before traveling.
