Trafalgar Releasing is opening Hadestown: The Musical in international cinemas today. The screen presentation was filmed live at London’s Lyric Theatre in the West End.
The production brings together original Broadway performers Reeve Carney, André De Shields, Amber Gray, Eva Noblezada and Patrick Page with members of the original West End company. Anaïs Mitchell’s musical retells the linked myths of Orpheus and Eurydice and of Hades and Persephone through American folk and New Orleans-influenced music.
The distributor lists the release as an international event, while participating dates and locations differ by market. Audiences should confirm the performance time and format with their local cinema before traveling.
