The British Film Institute has announced £1,233,203 for seven projects through the UK Global Screen Fund’s International Co-production strand, plus £510,109 through its International Distribution program. The fund is financed by the UK government’s Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.
The co-production awards cover two animated television series and five feature films, including two documentaries. UK independent companies in the group are working with partners across 13 territories, with North Macedonia, Malaysia, India and Portugal represented in the program for the first time.
Distribution support is split between festival-launch grants and prints-and-advertising awards intended to help UK films reach international markets. The figures and project categories come from the BFI’s October 9 announcement; results will depend on production and release work that follows the awards.
