Apple TV has released a trailer for Awkwafina: The Unlikely Cook and scheduled all eight episodes for a global November 6 premiere. The series follows performer Nora Lum, known professionally as Awkwafina, as she learns more about cooking while considering how to revive her family’s former restaurant, Lum’s, in Flushing, New York.

The announced journey includes training at the Culinary Institute of America and encounters with cooks and entertainers including Roy Choi, Martin Yan and Jimmy O. Yang. Apple describes the project as a cross-country trip shaped by food, family history and the practical demands of running a restaurant.

Twofour produces the series, with Lum among its executive producers. The trailer and premiere date establish what Apple plans to release; they do not show whether the restaurant project ultimately moves forward.
