The Walt Disney Company reports that Avengers: Endgame has returned to the top of the worldwide box-office ranking after the theatrical release of Avengers Endgame: Encore. Disney places the 2019 film at an estimated $2.9255 billion globally, compared with $2.9237 billion for Avatar.
The company also says the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s 38 theatrical releases have collectively generated more than $35 billion worldwide. Both totals come from Disney’s October 4 account and should be read as studio-reported estimates rather than an independent box-office audit.
The rerelease arrives ahead of Avengers: Doomsday, which Disney currently schedules for December 18. This brief records the company’s reported commercial milestone and release plan; it does not assess either film.
