Film at Lincoln Center has scheduled the world premiere of Luca Guadagnino’s Artificial for October 6 at 2:30 p.m. as part of the 64th New York Film Festival’s Main Slate. A conversation with Guadagnino and cast members Yura Borisov, Ike Barinholtz and Cooper Hoffman is listed with the screening.
The festival describes Simon Rich’s screenplay as a drama moving through two decades of machine-learning development. Yura Borisov plays Ilya Sutskever, Andrew Garfield plays Sam Altman and Mark Rylance plays Geoffrey Hinton; the announced supporting cast also includes Monica Barbaro, Jason Schwartzman and Chris O’Dowd.
