ABC News has launched Verts inside its mobile app, adding a vertical-video feed for breaking news, continuing coverage and analysis. The feature appears through a new icon in the app’s bottom navigation and marks the first phase of the format on the ABC News platform.
Disney says the feed draws from ABC News television, streaming and owned-station reporting, alongside material made by anchors, correspondents, analysts and other contributors. The company also plans to bring Verts to the mobile and web versions of ABCNews.com later.
The announcement establishes where the feed is available and the kinds of reporting it is designed to carry. Claims about usage and engagement in Disney’s release are company-reported figures rather than independent audience measurements.
