Film at Lincoln Center has scheduled the world premiere of A Statement for 1 p.m. today in the 64th New York Film Festival’s Spotlight program. Tom McCarthy wrote and directed the 111-minute film, which Sony Pictures Classics is releasing.

The drama recreates an October 1980 conference in St. Petersburg, Florida, where environmental advocates, scientists and federal policymakers debated how Congress should respond to research on carbon emissions and rising global temperatures. McCarthy used the meeting transcript while developing the screenplay and filmed in the hotel where the conference occurred.

The announced ensemble includes Paul Rudd, Evan Peters, Amy Ryan, Paul Giamatti, John Turturro, Tatiana Maslany, Mary Catherine Garrison, Nina Arianda and Zach Woods. This notice records the premiere and official program details; it does not review the film or imply attendance.
